Titas Sadhu: One Match Doesn’t Define Team Quality Ahead of Second ODI vs Australia

Brisbane, Dec 7 (NationPress) In anticipation of the Indian women's team's second ODI against Australia at Allan Border Field this Sunday, fast-bowler Titas Sadhu stated that a single disappointing match does not reflect the team's overall strength, expressing confidence in their ability to recover and tie the three-match series.
During the series opener on Thursday, pacer Megan Schutt delivered a career-best performance with figures of 5-19, leading to India's collapse for just 100 runs in 34.2 overs. Australia, despite losing five wickets, successfully chased down the target in under 17 overs, gaining a 1-0 lead in the series.
“It was an incredible experience for me, having waited a long time from my T20 debut to my ODI debut. Although the match didn’t unfold as we hoped, I am confident that we will bounce back strongly,” she remarked.
“We have emphasized that one match does not define whether a team is good or bad. We will continue to follow our established processes and aim to deliver our best performance,” she added.
“It’s crucial not to dwell too much on the previous match. We’ve played a game that didn’t go our way, and that’s okay. We’ll take a step back, analyze what we could improve, and move forward. We’ve played some solid cricket this year, and we will build on that,” Titas mentioned in the pre-match press conference.
In her ODI debut, Titas went wicketless in a spell of 4.2 overs. However, she previously excelled against Australia, achieving a career-best 4-17 in a T20I match in Navi Mumbai this January. She believes the batting lineup could have exhibited more patience on the unpredictable pitch.
“The conditions are slightly different from what we are accustomed to. Nevertheless, I am confident we can adapt and perform better in the upcoming game. That’s the goal—replicating my 4-17 performance against Australia,” she expressed.
“Ultimately, it’s about contributing to the team’s success, and I will strive to give my utmost in every match to secure a win. We could have shown more patience in our batting and aimed for better execution in our bowling. However, I believe we will improve in the next match,” she concluded.
