London, Jan 5 (NationPress) Tottenham Hotspur has officially confirmed the acquisition of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague on a seven-year contract valued at approximately £12.5 million. The 21-year-old will don the number 31 jersey.
The North London club was compelled to secure a goalkeeper following an ankle injury to their first-choice keeper, Guglielmo Vicario, who is anticipated to be sidelined until next month.
Vicario's backup, Fraser Forster, was unable to participate in Saturday's Premier League match against Newcastle United due to illness, which led head coach Ange Postecoglou to give a league debut to third-choice goalkeeper Brandon Austin.
"We are thrilled to announce the signing of Antonin Kinsky from SK Slavia Prague, pending international clearance and work permits. The 21-year-old goalkeeper has committed to a deal that extends until 2031 and will wear the number 31 jersey," stated the club.
Born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic, Antonin commenced his football career locally with FC Tempo Prague, Bohemians Prague 1905, and FK Dukla Prague, where he made his senior debut in July 2020. He signed with Slavia Prague in July 2021, joining the Sesivani’s B team, where the goalkeeper made nine appearances in his debut season.
Antonin Kinsky has signed a contract that runs until 2031. In the latter half of the 2021/22 season, he went on loan to MFK Vyskov, making 13 appearances. He returned for a second loan spell ahead of the next season, amassing a total of 47 appearances across all competitions for the Czech side.
He joined FK Pardubice in July 2023, on a season-long loan, making his debut in the Czech First League (Chance Liga) the same month. Antonin featured 18 times throughout the season.
After returning to Slavia Prague in the 2024/25 season, he has made 29 appearances this season across fixtures in the Czech First League (Chance Liga), UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Champions League qualifiers, achieving 14 clean sheets.
Representing the Czech Republic’s youth teams from Under-15 to Under-21 levels, Antonin received his first senior call-ups ahead of the 2024 October and November UEFA Nations League matches.
