Upcoming India-Pakistan Matches in CT 2025 and Future ICC Events Until 2027 to Be Held at Neutral Locations

Dubai, Dec 19 (NationPress) The International Cricket Council (ICC) Executive Board has officially declared that matches between India and Pakistan during forthcoming ICC events until 2027, including the Champions Trophy 2025, will occur at neutral venues.

In a statement, the ICC Board confirmed, "India and Pakistan matches hosted by either country as part of the ICC Events during the 2024-2027 rights cycle will be played at a neutral venue," ensuring a fair playing field.

This decision applies to the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to take place in February and March 2025 and is hosted by Pakistan, as well as the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 (hosted by India) and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka).

Additionally, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has received the hosting rights for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028, where neutral venue arrangements will also be enforced.

The ICC's ruling on India-Pakistan matches has quelled speculation regarding the future of the Champions Trophy. According to prior reports by IANS, Dubai is a strong candidate to host India’s matches during the Champions Trophy.

However, the ICC noted that the schedule for this marquee event will be "confirmed soon". The eight-team tournament will include Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, and South Africa, alongside the hosts and defending champions Pakistan.

Furthermore, the ICC disclosed that Cricket Australia will host one of the senior ICC women’s events during the period from 2029 to 2031.
