Champions Trophy 2025: India Set to Face Pakistan on February 23, Likely Venues Colombo or Dubai

New Delhi, Dec 19 (NationPress) The highly anticipated encounter between long-time rivals India and Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025 is set for February 23, with Colombo and Dubai leading the list of venues for India's matches in this tournament played in a hybrid format. This announcement follows the ICC Board's statement that matches involving India and Pakistan during the 2024-2027 rights cycle will take place at a neutral venue.

According to sources, ICC officials have indicated that India will compete against Pakistan at a neutral site on February 23, 2025, with Colombo and Dubai as leading candidates to host these matches.

The Champions Trophy is set to occur in February and March 2025, and details regarding the full schedule for this prestigious tournament will be released shortly.

Pakistan, the reigning champions, secured their title by defeating India by 180 runs in the final at The Oval in 2017. The last clash between these two teams took place earlier this year during the T20 World Cup in New York, where India triumphed by six runs, marking their second title in this format.

Due to ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan, the two countries only meet in international tournaments such as the World Cups and Asia Cup. The last bilateral series occurred in 2012-13, when Pakistan toured India for a five-match white-ball series.
