New Delhi, Aug 3 (NationPress) The captain of Purani Dilli 6, Vansh Bedi, perceives his role as a leader as a 'blessing from the universe'. The young cricketer expressed that this is a fresh experience and a moment of pride for him as he takes the helm in Season 2 of the Delhi Premier League (DPL).
Last week, Purani Dilli 6 appointed Vansh Bedi as their captain for the current DPL season taking place at the historic Arun Jaitley Stadium in the Capital. “This is a new experience and a moment of pride for me. I see it as a blessing from the universe. I have captained teams in club cricket, but leading Purani Dilli 6 in DPL is quite different,” stated Vansh Bedi.
Following a strong performance in the 2024 edition, where the team reached the knockout stage, Purani Dilli 6 is set for another title challenge this season. Vansh made a significant impression during the domestic season last year.
“Our management has excelled in terms of preparation, including arranging the grounds and providing excellent facilities. I’d like to thank Vijay Dahiya for streamlining everything for the players,” he added.
“Every team aspires to lift the trophy, and we share that ambition. Our aim is to play quality cricket, and winning is certainly our priority,” he remarked.
Commenting on Vansh, Akash Nangia, owner of Purani Dilli 6, said, “Vansh is young, dynamic, and possesses a sharp cricketing intellect. We are confident that under his leadership, Purani Dilli 6 will not only play audacious cricket but will also embody the spirit of Purani Delhi on the field.”
Purani Dilli 6 will launch their DPL 2025 campaign on August 5 against the Outer Delhi Warriors at 2 PM. This will be succeeded by a crucial match against the West Delhi Lions on August 7, also at 2 PM.
On August 8, the team will face the New Delhi Tigers under the lights in a 7 PM showdown. Their final group stage match is scheduled for August 27, where they will confront the South Delhi Superstarz in another prime-time battle at 7 PM.
