Mumbai, May 23 (NationPress) Former India cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar believes that the initial two Tests in the five-match series against England are essential for the touring team, commencing on June 20.
The 69-year-old cricketing legend expressed confidence in the Indian squad for this tour, despite the recent red-ball retirements of experienced players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Vengsarkar, who boasts 11 Test appearances and a remarkable 6,868 runs, is optimistic about the performance of emerging talents during this challenging tour.
"We possess a strong and capable team. India has a significant opportunity, and the first two Tests are critical - they will largely influence the team’s performance for the subsequent matches in the five-Test series.
