Kolkata, Dec 10 (NationPress) Rajeshwar Tiwari & Shubham Acharya have taken the lead in the ongoing Match Point Pairs Competition with a remarkable score of 1505.06 Match Points (MPs). They are closely followed by Sayantan Kushari & Sagnik Roy at 1452.87 MPs after completing 20 out of the 25 preliminary rounds of the Mall of the Millenium Match Point Pairs Competition (Ranking Event) as part of the Ashok Ruia Memorial Winter National Bridge Championship, taking place at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Town here on Wednesday.

Among the sixty pairs currently competing, the top 26 will advance to the final round, which will occur alongside the Seniors Pairs Event (for participants aged 60 and above) on the final day, Thursday.

In the current standings after the 20th round, the other top ten pairs include: 3. Joyrup Mullick & Pranab Roy (1422.34 MPs), 4. Bhaskar Sarkar & Sukanta Das (1391.27 MPs), 5. Sandip Dutta & Gopinath Manna (1376.40 MPs), 6. Souvik Kar & Pritam Das (1370.15 MPs), 7. S R Dutta & S C Sarkar (2362.77 MPs), 8. Ramkrishna Majumder & Swapan Kumar Ghosh (1362.18 MPs), 9. Although Hemant Jalan made a strong comeback in the final segment, scoring 50 VPs against 12.40 VPs from Mohota, it wasn't sufficient to change the outcome. Ultimately, Mohota finished with a total of 144.90 against 123 from Hemant Jalan, securing the championship title.
