New Delhi, Jan 16 (NationPress) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that Baroda, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai will serve as the venues for the 2025 edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Notably, Brabourne Stadium will host both the Eliminator and the Final. This marks the first instance in the tournament's brief history where four venues will be utilized.
The WPL 2025 is set to kick off at BCA Stadium in Baroda, where Gujarat Giants (GG) will compete against the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), on February 14. Following this, the Mumbai Indians will initiate their campaign against the Delhi Capitals on February 15.
Baroda will host a total of six matches before the tournament moves to Bengaluru, where the RCB, captained by Smriti Mandhana, will play their inaugural home match against the Mumbai Indians on February 21 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The RCB will have three more chances to entertain their local supporters, facing UP Warriorz (UPW) on February 24, GG on February 27, and the two-time runners-up, Delhi Capitals, on March 1. The matches will then shift to Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, which will make its debut as a WPL venue, hosting four games.
