Beijing, April 26 (NationPress) The promising teenage center Yang Hansen from China has made a significant announcement regarding his future in basketball, declaring his intention to enter the NBA Draft 2025 on Saturday.

"This is the most crucial choice of my life. I aspire to showcase my abilities on a larger platform," the 19-year-old stated in an interview with Xinhua.

Reflecting on his past experiences, Yang noted, "Two years prior, I faced off against the top players of my age globally at the FIBA U19 Men's Basketball World Cup, which greatly enhanced my confidence and sparked my determination to achieve greater success."

Yang also highlighted his participation in the NBA Summer League with the national team last year as a significant opportunity for growth.

Currently engaged in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) playoffs, Yang has showcased his skills by leading the Qingdao Eagles to the quarterfinals, despite a narrow defeat to the top-seeded Zhejiang Lions in a closely contested 3-2 series.

"I feel that the time has come for me to enhance my skills and learn at a higher level. I want to thank my club and our fans for their steadfast support," expressed the 2.18-meter center.

Earlier this year, Yang's agency disclosed that he had signed with Klutch Sports Group, a renowned agency established by Rich Paul, recognized for representing NBA stars like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and De'Aaron Fox.

"Klutch Sports Group has suggested experienced coaches come to China to offer guidance in basketball techniques, strategies, and lifestyle habits. More training programs will be available in the United States," Yang stated. "I am fully prepared, both mentally and physically."

During the 2024-2025 CBA regular season, Yang averaged 16.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, three assists, and one steal per game, boasting an impressive 2.6 blocks average, placing him at the top of the league. He earned a spot in the CBA All-Star starting lineup and was named to the All-CBA Chinese Player First Team.

In his debut with the senior national team at the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers in February 2024, Yang made a notable impact, scoring 13 points and contributing four assists in a 19-minute performance that helped secure an 80-49 victory over Mongolia.
