New Delhi, July 11 (NationPress) Veteran Indian trap shooter Zoravar Singh Sandhu recorded a score of 73 (24, 25, 24) after completing three qualifying rounds as the Trap events commenced at the year’s final International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Shotgun, held at the Tiro A Volo Trap Concaverde in Lonato, Italy, on Friday.
Zoravar's performance positioned him at 11th place among his competitors in the men's trap category, with two additional qualifying rounds consisting of 50 targets scheduled ahead of the finals on Saturday. The top six from a field of 183 (including RPO shooters) will advance to the finals.
His teammates, Lakshay Sheoran and Jaswinder Singh, scored 70 (24, 22, 24) and 69 (23, 24, 22) respectively.
In the women’s trap, Preeti Rajak performed best among Indian shooters, securing a provisional 27th position with a total of 66 points (20, 24, 22). Neeru also finished with a score of 66, while Pragati Dubey managed 57.
