Jaipur, Dec 30 (NationPress) As part of Operation Chakravyuh, the Pratapgarh police in Rajasthan achieved a significant milestone by apprehending three individuals involved in drug smuggling, leading to the confiscation of 1.203 kilograms of MD (methylenedioxymethamphetamine) drugs, estimated to be worth around Rs 1.25 crore in the international market.
This operation was executed in collaboration with the Dholapani Police Station and the District Special Team (DST) during a strategic roadblock.
According to SP B. Aditya, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Gajendra Singh, a police unit led by Dholapani SHO Praveen Kumar was executing a roadblock near Barol Ghat on Tuesday.
During this operation, two young men—Shahrukh Khan and Dilawar Khan—were observed approaching on a motorcycle registered in Madhya Pradesh.
Upon noticing the police, they attempted to escape but were swiftly surrounded and apprehended. The duo was unable to provide convincing responses during initial questioning. Shortly after, another motorcycle, an Apache, approached from behind.
When police halted the vehicle, the pillion rider, Safiullah, fled into the nearby jungle, while the rider, Rahim Khan, was captured at the scene. A search of Rahim Khan uncovered 1.203 kg of MD drugs, concealed within a polythene bag hidden beneath his T-shirt.
In the course of interrogation, Rahim Khan disclosed that Shahrukh and Dilawar were serving as decoys, riding ahead to scout for police presence and alert the principal carrier to facilitate the safe transport of the drug shipment.
All three suspects were detained, and both motorcycles utilized in the smuggling operation were confiscated.
The suspects are residents of Hathunia. The police are actively searching for the absconding suspect, Safiullah, and are conducting an investigation into the origin of the drugs and their intended destination.
The operation was successfully executed with the involvement of SHO Praveen Kumar, SI Bhanwarsingh, and members of the DST.
Constables Vinod and Pankaj, along with Ramesh from the Cyber Cell, played an instrumental role in this operation. Further investigations are currently ongoing.
