Accelerating Maharashtra's Development: Shinde's Vision for the Future

Nagpur, Dec 19 (NationPress) Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde remarked on Thursday that even though Maharashtra is the 'top state' across all sectors, the MahaYuti government is committed to steering the state towards development at a threefold speed.

In response to the discussion on the Governor's address, Shinde stated: "For the past two and a half years, we have functioned as a cohesive team. This collaboration has made our government the cherished administration of the populace. Our responsibilities have grown due to the people's trust, and now we assure a more vigorous and citizen-focused governance.

He highlighted that the transformation of Maharashtra commenced two and a half years ago, with a collective mission to achieve a prosperous Maharashtra.

"The strike rate for development initiatives under the MahaYuti government has been the highest in the nation over the last two and a half years. This rate will continue to rise. We are dedicated to making Maharashtra the leading state in the country and will persist in our efforts," he declared.

Shinde disclosed that infrastructure projects worth Rs 10 lakh crore are currently in progress in Maharashtra.

"We are set to launch 450 km of Metro lines across Mumbai MMR, Pune, Nashik, and Nagpur. Approval has been granted for a new greenfield expressway from Shirur to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The construction of the Pune Ring Road and the Alibaug-Virar multimodal corridor is progressing swiftly. We are constructing 7,000 km of access-controlled roads. Our ambition is for travel between any two regions of the state to take no more than seven to eight hours," he elaborated.

The former Chief Minister of Maharashtra noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has devised a strategy to elevate the nation to a superpower status.

"The state aims to contribute towards this goal, intertwining Viksit Bharat with Viksit Maharashtra. I am confident that both the Prime Minister and Home Minister Amit Shah will provide robust support and will continue to do so," he expressed.

Shinde affirmed that the government has implemented tangible measures to enhance the development of the Vidarbha region.

"Concrete actions have been taken for the advancement of Vidarbha, yielding positive outcomes. The government is extending the Samruddhi Mahamarg to Gondia, Bhandara, and Gadchiroli. Right in my first session as Chief Minister, I announced a bonus of Rs 15,000 per hectare for paddy to 5 lakh farmers in Vidarbha, which has now been increased to Rs 20,000. Vidarbha is set to be developed as a logistics hub," he added.

Additionally, Shinde mentioned that the government has sanctioned projects worth Rs 70,000 crore to enhance industrial growth in Vidarbha and Marathwada.

"During my term, two new projects were initiated in Surjagad, Gadchiroli. In the past two and a half years, we have convened 86 Cabinet meetings and made 850 crucial decisions," he concluded.
