New Delhi, April 9 (NationPress) Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia assured NCP Working President Supriya Sule on Thursday that decisive action would be taken regarding the alleged financial misconduct at the Satara post office, which the Baramati MP had highlighted.

In response to Sule's concerns, Scindia stated, "...we are treating the situation at the Satara Head Post Office with the utmost seriousness and have initiated prompt and responsible measures."

The Union Minister elaborated in his social media post, "A departmental inquiry has been promptly initiated, and the case has been referred to the CBI, where an FIR has been registered, and investigations are currently in progress. Claims are under thorough scrutiny, including necessary forensic verification, to ensure that only legitimate claims are processed."

Scindia emphasized, "Upholding the reliability of our @IndiaPostOffice services is our highest priority, which is why we have taken swift and systematic action without compromise."

Previously, Sule had reached out to the Union Minister seeking a quick resolution for claimants who were facing difficulties retrieving their claims.

On Wednesday, Sule mentioned, "In April 2024, financial discrepancies were discovered at the primary post office in Satara. Following CBI investigations, claims for 80 to 90 account holders were prepared."

"However, some signatures did not match, leading to those claims being sent to the Forensic Department in August 2024. Unfortunately, the claims for 15 to 20 individuals have yet to be disbursed. These individuals are regularly visiting the office in frustration. It is critical that all claims are released immediately," she stated.

"Furthermore, I expect stringent action against those responsible for this entire incident. I urge the government to take this matter seriously, as it impacts the integrity of postal services," the NCP leader concluded.
