New Delhi, Feb 24 (NationPress) Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, is on a four-day expedition in Singapore and Japan aimed at luring global investors and securing substantial investments for the state. On Tuesday, he met with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, Gan Kim Yong, and toured an airport logistics hub with his team, gathering valuable insights for enhancing the state's aviation infrastructure.
During this two-day visit, a series of Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) were established, including a pivotal agreement for a top-tier cargo complex at the 'ready-to-launch' Noida International Airport. This initiative is anticipated to significantly enhance the state's aviation infrastructure and multi-modal logistics framework.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's Office (CMO) shared via a post on X, stating, "'Invest UP' has signed an MoU with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise to fortify institutional capabilities, accelerate digital transformation, and enhance infrastructure and industrial competitiveness in the state. This is a crucial step towards crafting a globally competitive and future-ready Uttar Pradesh."
On the second day of his visit, CM Adityanath engaged with Kim Yong and took part in a high-level business meeting alongside delegates from Singapore.
This meeting concentrated on reinforcing bilateral relationships, expanding investment collaborations, and investigating partnerships in infrastructure, logistics, urban development, and burgeoning sectors.
Earlier on Tuesday, Yogi Adityanath visited the Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) at Changi Airport and inspected advanced air cargo handling systems, cold chain logistics, and integrated supply chain operations.
In the presence of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and the Singaporean delegates, SATS Limited signed an MoU to develop a premier cargo complex at the Noida International Airport in Jewar, along with establishing a Taj SATS air catering kitchen that will cater to Jewar and other airports across Northern India.
According to a statement from the CMO, "This significant partnership will enhance trade, reinforce supply chains, and create considerable employment prospects, solidifying Uttar Pradesh's status as a global investment hub."
CM Adityanath visited Singapore on February 23 and 24, and will proceed to Japan for an additional two-day tour from February 25 to 26.
This visit aligns with the state government's ambition to achieve a $1 trillion economy goal by 2027-2030.
