Jaipur, Dec 27 (NationPress) The successor to the Ajmer Dargah Chief, Syed Naseruddin Chishty, has described the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh as “intolerable”. He stated that assaults on innocent individuals based on their faith contradict the core principles of Islam, which advocate for peace, humanity, and justice.

Highlighting India's rising status on the global stage, Chishty remarked that the recognition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with prestigious civilian awards from various Muslim nations signifies the international appreciation of India’s values of coexistence and mutual respect, and should be a source of pride for the entire country.

Chishty emphasized that these accolades are not just personal victories for the Prime Minister, but represent the pride of the nation as a whole. “Whenever our Prime Minister is honored abroad, it reflects respect for the entire country,” he said.

He expressed deep concern over the reports of violence from Bangladesh, asserting that harming innocents and targeting any community is never justifiable under any circumstances.

In an appeal to the Bangladeshi government, he stated that if Islam serves as the foundation of their nation, then its leadership should manifest not only in rhetoric but also in action.

“Islam promotes humanity, peace, and justice. Attacking any minority group for any reason is entirely wrong. The government holds the duty to guarantee the safety and security of every citizen, regardless of their religion or community,” Chishty declared.

He warned that Bangladesh is being misused against India as part of a broader conspiracy, cautioning that such actions could threaten peace and brotherhood throughout the region.

Chishty urged the Bangladeshi government to take decisive action to control the situation and prevent the escalation of violence, thereby upholding peace, justice, and humanity.

He underscored that India is a nation deeply rooted in religious and cultural values, where individuals of all faiths have coexisted peacefully for centuries.

Chishty noted that religious gatherings in India foster culture, civilization, and social cohesion, playing a crucial role in uniting society, enhancing mutual interaction, and promoting respect for diverse traditions.

“This Ganga-Jamuni culture has always defined India's identity and continues to fortify social harmony,” he affirmed.

He concluded by expressing optimism about India’s ongoing progress and its growing global reputation as a strong and respected nation.

“This highlights India’s commitment to mutual brotherhood and respect for all religions, which is why the world views India with admiration,” he stated.
