Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, April 6 (NationPress) During a recent episode of the quiz reality show Wheel of Fortune, renowned Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar moved the audience with heartfelt insights on his experiences playing characters in uniforms.
Akshay openly discussed the significant emotional and psychological changes that accompany wearing an officer's uniform.
He expressed, "One thing I want everyone to understand is… when a man wears a uniform, his spine gets a boost. I don't know what it is about wearing a suit, but you don’t get that same energy. However, when you don the uniform, there’s an energy that makes your spine stand tall."
In a reflection on his performances, Akshay noted that even wearing a costume uniform for a film role results in a visible change in both posture and mindset.
"For instance, while I stood in the film Rustom… I don’t think I could maintain that stance normally. It was a fake uniform, but the essence of a uniform is unmatched.”
Recalling one of his acclaimed films, Akshay shared a memorable dialogue from Rustom, a performance that earned him a National Film Award for Best Actor.
With conviction, he stated, "There’s one line I still remember… my uniform is as natural to me as breathing. Protecting my country, fulfilling my duty selflessly, without hesitation… I still recall all the lines vividly.”
Rustom, released in 2016, featured Akshay as a naval officer alongside co-stars Ileana D'Cruz and Esha Gupta.
