Allu Arjun Responds to Telangana CM's Remarks, Calls It Character Assassination

Hyderabad, Dec 21 (NationPress) Refuting the allegations that he attended Sandhya Theatre without proper permission or organized a roadshow, Tollywood actor Allu Arjun stated on Saturday that he felt deeply wounded by the attack on his character.
He also labeled as untrue a statement attributed to him and the accusation that he was indifferent to the family of the woman who tragically lost her life and her son who was injured in the December 4 incident during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.
In an emotional press conference held on Saturday night, shortly after Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy targeted him in the state Assembly for allegedly visiting the theatre despite police disapproval, conducting a roadshow, ignoring the incident, and failing to meet the affected family, Allu Arjun expressed his concerns.
“There is a lot of misinformation, false allegations, and a significant communication gap. There are many misquotations. I have not stated anything like that. Please don’t judge me. Please don’t engage in character assassination against me. I am not that kind of person,” he asserted.
Expressing feelings of extreme humiliation over the character attack, he clarified that he wasn't blaming any individual, leader, or the government. He described the occurrence as an unfortunate accident, asserting that no one was to blame.
He emphasized that after two decades in the industry, he had built a solid reputation, which he felt was tarnished overnight.
“I have worked hard for 21-22 years to earn this respect. When it is undermined so swiftly, it truly hurts,” he remarked.
He denied the claim that he visited the theatre without authorization.
“The assertion that I went to the theatre without permission is completely false. When I was there, the police were clearing the crowd, indicating that everything was in order. If I had no permission, they could have informed us, and I would have left,” Allu Arjun clarified.
He also refuted allegations of conducting a roadshow, explaining that he merely waved at the crowd a short distance from the theatre to facilitate the car's movement.
“This is typical behavior at any event involving a celebrity or leader,” he stated.
He dismissed the claim that he ignored the incident, saying, “No police officer approached me. It was one of my managers who informed me that the crowd was becoming uncontrollable and suggested it would be best to leave.”
Contrary to the Chief Minister's statement in the Assembly that a Deputy Commissioner of Police had warned him of possible arrest if he did not vacate the theatre, Allu Arjun maintained that he learned of the woman's death only the following day and was taken aback.
He expressed his intention to visit the family of the deceased and see the hospitalized boy that same day, but due to the family filing a police complaint against him, his legal team advised him against it.
Allu Arjun posted a video the next day to express his condolences and assure the family that he would do everything he could to support them.
“It wasn’t merely about financial support,” stated the actor, who pledged Rs 25 lakh to the family.
He revealed that he was so distressed by the tragic incident that he had not watched the movie in the theatre and canceled all celebrations and events.
“This is a very low point,” he remarked.
The actor reaffirmed that he dedicated three years to the film, which meant everything to him, and he had planned to watch it in the cinema.
