Tollywood Star Allu Arjun Taken into Custody, Set for Court Appearance

Hyderabad, Dec 13 (NationPress) The police in Hyderabad have arrested actor Allu Arjun in connection with a case involving a stampede that occurred at a theatre during the premiere of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', resulting in the death of a woman.

Following the recording of his statement at the Chikkadpally Police Station, the actor was taken to Gandhi Hospital for a medical examination. He is expected to be presented before the Nampally Court later today.

During the stampede at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, a woman lost her life, and her son sustained serious injuries while attending the premiere that was graced by Allu Arjun.

The award-winning actor was taken into custody from his residence in Jubilee Hills, just hours after returning from Delhi, where he participated in a success celebration for 'Pushpa 2'.

Allu Arjun's father, renowned filmmaker Allu Arvind, his actor brother Allu Sirish, and other family members were present during his arrest.

A police team, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Akanksh Yadav, interrogated Allu Arjun for around two hours based on eyewitness testimonies.

The police filed a case under sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3(5) BNS against Allu Arjun, his security personnel, and the theatre management.

The case was initiated at Chikkadpally Police Station on December 5, following a complaint from the deceased woman's husband. Subsequently, the theatre owner, general manager, and security manager were arrested on December 8.

As per police reports, neither the theatre management nor Allu Arjun's team informed them about their attendance at the theatre. Additionally, the theatre management failed to implement adequate security measures to control the crowd.

On December 6, Allu Arjun expressed his condolences by announcing a financial aid of Rs 25 lakh for the bereaved family, stating that he is "deeply heartbroken".

The actor assured the family that he would personally meet them and provide necessary support.

Furthermore, Allu Arjun committed to covering the medical expenses for the critically injured boy.

In other news, the Telangana High Court has postponed the hearing on Allu Arjun's quash petition to 4 p.m. today.

The actor's legal team has requested an expedited hearing of the petition filed on December 11. The Public Prosecutor informed the court that he would gather all relevant details from the police.
