Allu Arjun Approaches High Court Regarding Theatre Stampede Incident

Hyderabad, Dec 11 (NationPress) Tollywood star Allu Arjun has filed a petition with the Telangana High Court to dismiss a case initiated by the Hyderabad Police in relation to a tragic stampede that occurred at a theatre during the premiere screening of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' on December 4.

A woman lost her life and her son sustained severe injuries during the stampede at Sandhya Theatre while the premiere was attended by Allu Arjun.

The police registered the case under sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt) in conjunction with 3(5) BNS against Allu Arjun, his security personnel, and the theatre's management.

This case was filed at Chikkadpally Police Station on December 5, following a complaint from the husband of the deceased woman. The police took the theatre's owner, general manager, and security manager into custody on December 8.

As the authorities were reportedly preparing to take further action against the actor, he sought the High Court's intervention to quash the First Information Report (FIR).

The theatre management has also submitted a similar petition in court.

According to police reports, there were no prior notifications from the theatre management or the actor's team regarding their attendance. Furthermore, the theatre did not make sufficient security arrangements to control the crowd.

On December 6, Allu Arjun pledged financial support of Rs 25 lakh to the family of the deceased and expressed that he is 'deeply heartbroken' by the incident.

The actor assured the family in mourning that he would meet them in person and provide any necessary assistance.

Additionally, Allu Arjun committed to covering the medical expenses for the young boy, who remains in critical condition.

Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally. While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extend every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey,” Allu Arjun wrote on X.
