Tollywood Star Allu Arjun Placed in 14-Day Judicial Custody Following Theatre Stampede Incident

Hyderabad, Dec 13 (NationPress) A court in Hyderabad has remanded Tollywood actor Allu Arjun to judicial custody for 14 days in connection with a tragic stampede that occurred during the premier of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', resulting in the death of a woman.

The actor, who received a National Award, was apprehended by the police at his home in Hyderabad and subsequently brought before a magistrate at the Nampally Criminal Court complex.

The Ninth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate has ordered that Allu Arjun remain in custody until December 27.

Law enforcement is coordinating the transfer of Allu Arjun to Chanchalguda Jail under strict security measures.

Prior to this, police had taken the actor's statement at Chikkadpally Police Station and later transported him to Gandhi Hospital for a medical examination.

A woman tragically lost her life and her son sustained serious injuries during the stampede that took place at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere attended by Allu Arjun on December 4.

A police unit apprehended the acclaimed actor at his residence in Jubilee Hills, shortly after he returned from Delhi, where he participated in a success event for 'Pushpa 2'.

In attendance during his arrest were Arjun’s father, renowned filmmaker Allu Arvind, his actor brother Allu Sirish, and other family members.

The police team, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Akanksh Yadav, interrogated Allu Arjun for nearly two hours based on eyewitness accounts.

A case has been filed under sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3(5) BNS against Allu Arjun, his security personnel, and the theatre management.

This case was initiated at Chikkadpally Police Station on December 5, following a complaint from the husband of the deceased. The theatre owner, general manager, and security manager were apprehended on December 8.

According to police reports, there was no prior notification from the theatre management or the actor's representatives regarding their visit, and the theatre did not implement any additional security measures to control the crowd.
