Husband of Theatre Stampede Victim Prepared to Dismiss Case Against Allu Arjun

Hyderabad, Dec 13 (NationPress) In a surprising turn of events regarding the Hyderabad theatre stampede incident where actor Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday, the husband of a woman who lost her life in the tragic event has indicated that he is ready to dismiss the case.

Bhaskar, the husband of Revathi, who tragically passed away during the stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ on December 4, shared with reporters that he was not informed by the police about Allu Arjun’s arrest.

He also stated that the actor had no involvement in the unfortunate stampede that resulted in his wife's death. “My son was eager to watch the movie. I took my family to Sandhya Theatre. Allu Arjun was present, but it was not his fault,” he explained, adding that he was willing to withdraw the legal action.

Bhaskar made these remarks at the hospital where his eight-year-old son continues to receive treatment.

Allu Arjun was apprehended by the police on Friday in connection with the incident and was subsequently presented before a city court.

The police initiated a case under sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt) in conjunction with 3(5) BNS against Allu Arjun, his security personnel, and the theatre management.

This case was filed at Chikkadpally Police Station on December 5 following a complaint by the deceased woman’s husband. The police apprehended the theatre owner, general manager, and security manager on December 8.

As per police reports, when Allu Arjun arrived at the theatre with his personal security team, a crowd attempted to enter the venue alongside him. His security team began to push the crowd, which escalated the situation, exacerbated by the already large gathering at the theatre.

According to police accounts, Revathi (35) lost her life while her son Sri Tej experienced suffocation due to the overwhelming crowd. The police, who were present, managed to pull them from the lower balcony and administered CPR on her son before swiftly transporting them to a nearby hospital.

While Revathi was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, Sri Tej remains under medical care.

Authorities noted that neither the theatre management nor Allu Arjun’s team informed them about their visit to the theatre.

On December 6, Allu Arjun pledged to provide ₹25 lakh in support to the bereaved family, expressing that he is ‘deeply heartbroken’.

The actor assured the mourning family that he would meet them personally and offer any assistance possible.

Additionally, Allu Arjun committed to covering the medical expenses for the young boy.
