Rajkot, Jan 6 (NationPress) In an impressive display, Aman Rao Perala from Hyderabad achieved a remarkable double century against Bengal during the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy at the Niranjan Shah Stadium. This incredible feat came in just his third List A match.

The innings began with Aman taking a cautious approach, scoring only three runs off his first 10 balls, while his opening partner Gahlaut Rahul Singh led the charge in their century partnership. Aman secured his half-century in 65 deliveries and gradually accelerated his scoring as the innings progressed.

He completed his first List A century in 107 balls during the 38th over and then shifted gears, racing to 150 in 134 balls, highlighted by consecutive sixes in the 46th over, before delivering a breathtaking late onslaught.

The 21-year-old cricketer only required 20 balls to elevate his score from 150 to 200, achieving his double century in a thrilling final over that helped Hyderabad set an imposing total of 352/5. His innings included 12 fours and 13 sixes.

Aman made his List A debut just last week and has already participated in 11 T20 matches, accumulating 301 runs at an average of 33.44 and a striking rate of 162.70.

This outstanding performance marked only the ninth double century recorded in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, with the highest score in the tournament being 277, achieved by Narayan Jagadeesan.

He is now the 15th Indian male cricketer to complete a double century in the List A format, and it also stands as the second-highest score in the current edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, trailing only Swastik Samal of Odisha, who scored 212.

Aman was signed by Rajasthan Royals during the IPL 2026 auction held last December.
