New Delhi, March 17 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah conveyed his best wishes to the members of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as they celebrated their Raising Day on Monday.
In a statement shared on X, HM Shah remarked, “I extend my heartfelt greetings to the NCB staff on their Raising Day. This esteemed agency is committed to protecting our youth from the perils of drugs and is fulfilling its duties with remarkable skill, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji's vision for a drug-free India at an impressive pace. The nation honors their commitment and patriotism.”
The NCB also acknowledged the occasion via social media, stating, “𝗡𝗖𝗕 @ 𝟰𝟭 — Celebrating four decades of steadfast dedication to disrupting drug networks, safeguarding communities, and reinforcing the vision of a drug-free India.”
Earlier this week, the NCB announced on social media that “DG, NCB Anurag Garg and @ONDCP Director, USA Sara Carter (@saracarterdc), along with their teams, engaged in discussions during the 69th Session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) held in Vienna, Austria.”
During this meeting, both parties agreed to enhance cooperation by focusing on the exchange of actionable intelligence between India and the United States to bolster counter-narcotics efforts.
They also discussed the timely sharing of information to facilitate swift parallel investigations across jurisdictions concerning transnational drug cartels, as noted by the NCB.
Both delegations decided to organize the Pillar III meeting of the US-India Counter Narcotics Working Group (CNWG) in April 2026, according to NCB reports.
To celebrate its 41st Raising Day, the NCB has organized a Youth Outreach and Awareness Programme on Tuesday at Sri Venkateswara College (DU).
This outreach initiative provides a platform for officials to disseminate the message of a drug-free society and emphasizes the significance of youth involvement in combating drug abuse. Educational sessions conducted for students aim to highlight the dangers associated with drug use and trafficking.
Through this initiative, the NCB reaffirms its dedication to fostering a Drug-Free India by engaging enforcement agencies, students, and the broader community in unified action against drug abuse and trafficking.
