Patna, March 23 (NationPress) After being released from Beur Central Jail in Patna, Mokama MLA Anant Kumar Singh was greeted with an exuberant reception at his home, where a throng of supporters had gathered to celebrate his return.
As his vehicle pulled up, chants of “Chhote Sarkar Zindabad” resonated through the crowd, and flower garlands were showered upon him.
The atmosphere transformed into a festive celebration, with fireworks illuminating the night sky and slogans ringing out across the area.
Despite Anant Kumar Singh's request to the crowd to disperse and return later, the supporters' enthusiasm showed no signs of waning.
According to his followers, festivities will extend into Tuesday with a large roadshow covering nearly 50 kilometers throughout the Mokama constituency.
Anant Singh plans to visit a temple in Barahiya before heading to his ancestral village, Nadma, accompanied by a considerable convoy of supporters.
In a statement to the media, Anant Singh reiterated his innocence in the legal case, asserting, “I was four kilometers away when the incident occurred. I have been wrongfully accused.”
When confronted about the ongoing allegations against him, he remarked, “Why am I being framed? How would I know?”
Known affectionately as “Chhote Sarkar,” Anant Singh was arrested in connection with the murder of Dularchand Yadav during the 2025 Assembly elections and was held in Beur Jail.
Even while incarcerated, he contested the elections as a candidate for the Janata Dal United (JDU) and won.
The case involves an incident on October 30, 2025, in Mokama, where violent clashes during election campaigning resulted in the death of Dularchand Yadav. Reports indicate that he was shot before being run over by a vehicle, leading to his immediate demise.
After spending several months behind bars, Anant Singh secured bail from the Patna High Court.
His release has once again invigorated his support base, prompting widespread celebrations, a community feast for thousands, and increased political activity in the region.
