Amaravati, Sep 15 (NationPress) The School Education Department of Andhra Pradesh has officially announced the final selection list for the District Selection Committee (DSC) examinations conducted between June and July, aimed at hiring educators for government schools.
The department has successfully filled 15,941 positions, with women comprising 49.9 percent of the chosen candidates.
This recruitment is touted as the largest ever in the state’s history, executed with a commendable degree of transparency. For the first time, initiatives such as SC sub-classification, a 3 percent quota for sportspersons, and both vertical and horizontal reservations were implemented.
Education Secretary Kona Sasidhar highlighted that the entire recruitment process was finalized in a mere 150 days.
The Mega DSC-2025 initiative, launched last June, aimed to fill a total of 16,347 posts. Despite facing over 100 legal challenges, the recruitment was carried out without any significant issues.
The hiring process was applicable to teachers in government, Panchayat Raj, and municipal schools, alongside those in institutions under the Tribal Welfare, Social Welfare, and Backward Classes Welfare departments.
A staggering 577,675 applications were submitted by 336,300 candidates, and a computer-based examination was held in two shifts from June 6 to July 2, 2025. The final answer key was published on August 1.
The remaining 406 vacancies were left unfilled due to a lack of qualified candidates from the respective communities, which will be addressed in the upcoming DSC notification.
The final selection list is accessible at district education offices, district collectorates, and at www.apdsc.apcfss.in.
Education Secretary clarified that there will be no waiting list or supplementary list.
In the meantime, Education Minister Nara Lokesh extended his congratulations to all successful candidates whose names appeared in the final list.
“This achievement signifies the commencement of a journey filled with responsibility and service — nurturing young minds, fortifying our education system, and promoting the vision of the AP Model of Education in every classroom. We urge the teaching community to embrace and guide these new educators as they embark on their noble mission. For those who did not succeed this time — remain hopeful. As promised, DSC will now be an annual event. Stay focused, stay prepared, and your chance will come,” Lokesh expressed on X.
He emphasized that with the successful Mega DSC, the government has honored its commitment. The education minister recalled that the Mega DSC was the first file signed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu upon taking office at the Secretariat last year.
