Mumbai, May 7 (NationPress) Director-writer Anees Bazmee, who recently directed ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, is commemorating 35 years since the release of his film 'Swarg'.
On Wednesday, he posted on his Instagram the poster of ‘Swarg’, which marked his initial foray into Hindi cinema. Anees was the scriptwriter for the film, featuring Rajesh Khanna and Govinda.
In a heartfelt caption, he expressed, “On the 35th anniversary of Swarg, my heart is filled with gratitude! This debut film was a pivotal moment in my career. The affection and recognition I received were invaluable to me. When they said ‘the writer had arrived’, I felt a surge of hope. Since then, I have been lucky to write for numerous gifted filmmakers #35yearsofswarg”.
In the meantime, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ has emerged as one of the top hits of 2024, with Kartik Aaryan winning the IIFA trophy for Best Actor (Male) for his performance in this blockbuster horror-comedy series.
During his emotional acceptance speech at the IIFA awards this year, the actor reflected on his role in ‘Chandu Champion’, stating, "I’m at a loss for words right now. I’m not Chandu; I’m the champion. Although this isn’t an award for that film, the sentiment is the same.”
Kartik took over the lead role in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ from the acclaimed Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, a move that generated significant buzz and stirred the loyalty of Akshay’s fanbase. Nevertheless, Kartik elevated the franchise, which under his lead has grossed nearly Rs 600 crore.
Despite the challenges he faced, Kartik conveyed deep appreciation for his supporters and acknowledged Anees Bazmee for crafting his character of Rooh Baba. He remarked, "A heartfelt thanks to Anees Bazmee sir for creating such a remarkable character, Rooh Baba, which has truly become a legacy for generations.”
