New Delhi, March 18 (NationPress) In a shocking incident that occurred in the Lahori Gate vicinity of North Delhi, an Angadia trader was violently robbed of Rs 80 lakh at gunpoint. Angadia traders function alongside the banking system, facilitating the transfer of cash across states through individuals known as Angadias, similar to courier services.
The assailants discharged gunfire before fleeing the crime scene with a bag filled with cash. The entire episode was documented by CCTV cameras, prompting police teams to initiate an investigation while interrogating the victim for more information.
The robbery transpired in the Haveli Haider Kuli area close to Chandni Chowk. After threatening the trader with firearms, the culprits seized the bag containing Rs 80 lakh and discharged shots prior to their escape.
The CCTV footage depicting the robbery, showcasing the perpetrators in action while brandishing guns, has since gone viral on social media platforms. Reportedly, the theft occurred on February 21 at a house in Kailash Colony while the family was away in Surajkund, Faridabad. Upon their return, the family discovered the main entrance breached and some cash and jewelry missing.
