Key Takeaways
Chennai, Feb 28 (NationPress) K. Annamalai, the former President of the Tamil Nadu BJP, asserted that he has no intention of politicizing the alleged legal matters involving actor and politician Vijay and his spouse, Sangeetha. He emphasized that this situation is a personal affair that should be addressed by those directly involved and the judicial system.
While speaking to journalists, Annamalai mentioned that a petition concerning Vijay’s wife was filed in the Chengalpattu court last December and has recently gained attention.
He insisted that this matter should be regarded as a private issue between Vijay, his wife, and the legal authorities.
“This is fundamentally a matter concerning Vijay, his wife, and the court. It pertains to their personal lives, and I refrain from politicizing it,” Annamalai stated.
However, he indicated his readiness to respond to any political statements made by Vijay if the need arises.
“I am always prepared to offer a political response regarding his remarks,” he added.
Annamalai pointed out that stepping into politics invites heightened public scrutiny.
“Entering politics is akin to stepping into a ring of fire. When one remains outside the political arena, their personal life may remain untouched. But once you enter public life, every aspect comes under intense examination. This is true for all leaders, including Vijay,” he noted.
He remarked that Vijay must be cognizant of the challenges that come with a political career.
“He should rise above these matters. His political journey extends beyond this issue. Ultimately, in the forthcoming Assembly elections, it will be up to the public to decide his fate,” Annamalai commented.
Comparing his experiences with other celebrities who transitioned to politics, Annamalai referred to actors such as Chiranjeevi and the early political career of M.G. Ramachandran (MGR), highlighting that many grappled with considerable pressure after making the switch from cinema to politics.
“As a prominent actor, one can enjoy a peaceful and glamorous life. However, politics comes with its own set of demands,” he remarked.
Reiterating his position, Annamalai concluded that he has no intention of critiquing or commenting on Vijay’s private affairs. “My political approach is not centered around targeting someone’s personal life. This is a private matter, and I do not intend to make it political,” he stated.
