Los Angeles, April 9 (NationPress) Singer-actress Ariana Grande, who has been showcasing the blonde hair of her character Glinda from ‘Wicked’, has momentarily shifted from that hue for her newest project.

The ‘We Can't Be Friends’ singer, 31, posted a collection of behind-the-scenes photos from the making of her short film, ‘Brighter Days Ahead’, on her Instagram, according to ‘People’ magazine.

In these images, Grande is depicted with a hair color that is a few shades darker than the Glinda blonde she has worn during the Wicked promotional period.

As reported by ‘People’, her hair, now resembling an auburn shade, was styled into a side-parted high ponytail that flowed down her back.

Earlier this year, hints of auburn began to appear in Grande's hair; for the 2025 Golden Globes in January, the actress’s Aubrey Hepburn-inspired hairstyle was refreshed with a darker tone and chunky highlights by her colorist, Rachel Bodt, for the occasion.

"We opted for a warm, light auburn-brown base with chunky contoured highlights to enhance contrast," Bodt told InStyle. "I ensured both the highlights and base colors were warm so they complemented each other. Since it was a more striking look, I aimed for it to harmonize seamlessly.”

This auburn hue, which officially belongs to the red color family, marks a significant departure from the vibrant cherry shade Grande used to sport during Victorious. The brighter red led to hair damage due to weekly touch-ups; Grande later transitioned to her signature ponytail to alleviate the harm and opted for brunette shades.

“It’s like the red was Cat (Valentine), and that represented a character, a distinct chapter of my life that I cherish,” she shared during a 2020 segment on the ‘Zack Sang Show’. “When I see red hair... I’m nostalgic about that, but at the same time, it doesn’t define who I am.”
