New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) In a heartfelt tribute, foreign diplomats in India have expressed their condolences for the iconic singer Asha Bhosle, who departed this world in Mumbai on Sunday at the remarkable age of 92.

The Australian High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, shared that he is one of the many non-Indians who have treasured the music of the timeless Asha Bhosle. "I am among countless foreigners who have adored the melodies of the evergreen #AshaBhosle. Her spirit will resonate within us, especially when I hear ‘Yeh Mera Dil Yaar Ka Deewana’,” he wrote on X.

Herve Delphin, the Ambassador of the European Union to India, referred to Asha Bhosle's passing as a "monumental loss," adding, "the melody may have paused, but her legacy is everlasting."

He expressed, "A monumental loss. Asha Bhosle Ji’s voice transcended generations and boundaries - she was a true ambassador of India’s rich lyrical heritage. Although the melody may have ceased, her legacy will forever endure. Om Shanti," he stated in a post on X.

Asha Bhosle was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Saturday and sadly passed away the following day.

She made her playback singing debut in 1943 with the Marathi play "Majha Bal," and quickly rose to become one of the most celebrated singers of her era, with timeless hits like "Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko," "Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani," "Kya Ghazab Karte Ho Ji," and "Ye Ladka Hay Allah Kaisa Hai Diwana."
