New Delhi, Sep 25 (NationPress) On Thursday, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood spearheaded a march in Janakpuri, West Delhi, aimed at enlightening traders, consumers, and local residents about the transformative GST reforms implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event was also a call to embrace Swadeshi products and a vision for a developed India.

Sood emphasized that taxes have been reduced, making it easier to purchase goods, thereby benefiting both shopkeepers and consumers.

“With the introduction of GST 2.0, the Prime Minister has offered long-term relief. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is committed to ensuring these advantages reach the public. The Prime Minister's advocacy for Swadeshi products supports our artisans, small entrepreneurs, and handcraft workers, symbolizing a developed India,” he stated.

This march was a segment of the “Seva Pakhwada”, celebrated nationwide from September 17 to October 2 in honor of PM Modi’s birthday.

He pointed out that Delhi, a hub for middle-class families, service professionals, small traders, and business owners, will significantly benefit from these reforms. It aims to simplify life for citizens, increase disposable income, and bolster trade, thereby enhancing the overall economy.

Numerous traders and local residents from Posangipur Market actively participated, aiming to directly connect with the community and convey that this historic decision promises benefits for both traders and consumers, ultimately elevating India’s economy.

The Minister visited multiple shops, engaging with traders and explaining how these reforms would directly benefit both the business community and shoppers. Many traders and citizens welcomed these changes enthusiastically. Shri Sood remarked that “Modi ji has gifted Delhiites an early Diwali this year.”

He asserted that the adoption of a streamlined GST structure with substantial rate reductions marks a new chapter in India’s taxation landscape. He predicted that Delhi’s economy would gain renewed momentum, create job opportunities, and enhance transparency in taxation.

Sood announced that as of September 22, these GST reforms reaffirm India’s dedication to establishing a simplified, fair, and growth-oriented GST framework that prioritizes the ease of living for citizens and the ease of doing business for enterprises.

The Minister underscored that this is not merely a tax reduction; it’s a pivotal step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and the Swadeshi pledge. “We must support Made in India products in both buying and selling. This is the path to positioning India as an economic superpower,” he emphasized.

He also highlighted that the forthcoming GST reforms are crafted not just to lower tax rates but also to foster a positive cycle of growth.
