Guwahati, March 20 (NationPress) The nomination phase for the Assam Assembly elections gained significant traction on Friday as numerous prominent candidates, including Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, prepared to submit their nomination papers, signaling the official start of a fierce electoral contest in the state.

CM Sarma, who aims for re-election from the Jalukbari constituency, is set to present his nomination at the Kamrup (Metropolitan) District Election Office.

Prior to filing his papers, the Chief Minister will spearhead a roadshow stretching from Khanapara Veterinary Field to the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Hengrabari, covering nearly 5.6 km, showcasing his political might.

In a recent message shared on X, CM Sarma encouraged his supporters to participate in the rally, expressing that their support would bolster his campaign in the forthcoming elections.
