Guwahati, March 30 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced on Sunday that the state government is constructing over 1,000 bridges to tackle geographical challenges.

He reminisced about his childhood experience of riding an elephant decades ago during the filming of an Assamese movie in the Kampur area of Nagaon district.

The Chief Minister stated, “Connecting Assam—one bridge at a time! We are building 1,000 bridges throughout the state, overcoming geographic barriers to ensure last-mile connectivity for our people.”

He continued, “The Kampur Kapili Bridge evokes nostalgia as it was at this very location that I rode an elephant years ago for the film 'Kokadeuta Nati aur Hati'. Today, as I inaugurate this much-awaited bridge, I felt compelled to recreate that iconic scene.”
