Ranchi, Sep 7 (NationPress) Senior BJP leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi has showered accolades on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labeling him as ‘not merely India's most beloved leader but a worldwide figure of significance’.
Marandi firmly stated that no other leader rivals PM Modi's popularity, whether in India or on a global scale.
In a discussion with IANS, Marandi supported former US President Donald Trump’s recent remarks, where Trump referred to PM Modi as a “good friend” and confirmed that their camaraderie would persist. Marandi noted that Trump's comment signifies the robust and unique relationship between India and the United States, and there is no cause for alarm.
Emphasizing PM Modi’s vast appeal in a large and diverse democracy like India — which houses over 1.4 billion individuals of different castes, religions, and languages — Marandi described Modi’s third consecutive term as Prime Minister as “historic and unparalleled.”
“It is uncommon in any democracy for a leader to achieve a third term with such profound popularity,” he remarked. “International surveys consistently position PM Modi among the top global leaders. His approval ratings substantially exceed those of any other leader worldwide.”
Marandi also highlighted that PM Modi’s significance transcends mere popularity; his decisions and leadership have instigated transformative changes in the nation. “His actions, beyond his public persona, have granted him the respect of a global statesman.”
Regarding the reduction in GST rates, Marandi expressed gratitude to PM Modi via the social media platform X for diminishing the GST on handicrafts and tribal art products from 12% to 5%. He asserted that this decision would significantly enhance Jharkhand’s silk sector, empowering weavers and artisans by facilitating access to national markets.
“This choice will bolster the state’s economy and support thousands of families engaged in traditional crafts,” he remarked. “It’s a boon for our artisans, rejuvenating Jharkhand’s rich handloom and tribal art heritage.”
