New Delhi, Sep 7 (NationPress) BJP MLA Ram Kadam on Sunday fervently supported US President Donald Trump’s recent commendation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that this is a truth that cannot be contested and showcases the global prominence India has attained under PM Modi’s guidance.
In an interview with IANS, Kadam stated, "US President Trump referred to PM Modi as a remarkable leader. This is the reality, and it is indisputable," emphasizing that the international esteem India has garnered has significantly increased over the past decade.
“Every time PM Modi embarks on international trips, the level of respect he commands instills a sense of pride in every Indian,” remarked Kadam, adding, “In the past, former prime ministers approached foreign nations differently, and the perception of India’s passport 11 years ago was distinct. Today, immigration officials in foreign lands regard it with reverence. This sense of pride is attributed to PM Modi, which is why he is indeed exceptional. Furthermore, India is swiftly progressing towards becoming 'Vishwaguru', and this is being acknowledged by countries worldwide.”
Kadam’s comments followed President Donald Trump's characterization of Prime Minister Modi as a “superb Prime Minister” and his reaffirmation of the “special relationship” between India and the United States.
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump expressed, “I will always maintain my friendship with (Narendra) Modi… He’s a fantastic Prime Minister. He’s exceptional. However, I have reservations about his current actions. Nevertheless, India and the United States share a unique bond. There’s no need for concern. We simply have occasional disagreements.”
Prime Minister Modi responded on X, stating, “I sincerely value and fully reciprocate President Trump’s sentiments and his positive evaluation of our relationship. India and the US possess a highly optimistic and forward-looking Comprehensive and Global Strategic Partnership.”
Trump also acknowledged the recent hurdles in bilateral relations, expressing dissatisfaction over India’s acquisition of Russian oil and announcing substantial tariffs. “I’ve been quite disheartened that India would purchase such a large quantity of oil from Russia, and I have informed them of a considerable tariff imposed on India, a 50 percent tariff, a very hefty tariff,” he commented.
