New Delhi, July 26 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again claimed the title of the most popular democratic leader in the world, achieving the highest ranking in the most recent ‘Democratic Leader Approval Ratings’ published by the US-based intelligence organization Morning Consult. With an impressive 75 percent approval rating, PM Modi maintains his leadership on the global public opinion stage.
Following closely behind PM Modi is the newly elected South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, who has garnered a 59 percent approval rating, placing him second on the worldwide leaderboard. In comparison, US President Donald Trump, who returned to office last year, holds the eighth position with an approval rating of just 44 percent.
The data, collected between July 4 and July 10, 2025, reflects the views of thousands of adults from various democratic countries. Morning Consult employs a rolling seven-day average methodology to offer real-time insights into global leadership sentiments.
According to the survey, three out of four respondents worldwide expressed a favorable opinion of PM Modi, solidifying his status as a globally respected leader. Only 18 percent expressed disapproval, while 7 percent remained neutral or uncertain.
Having commenced his third consecutive term in May 2024, PM Modi continues to enjoy popularity not only in India but also on the international scene. Analysts attribute his sustained approval to a mix of economic resilience, diplomatic initiatives, and domestic welfare programs.
Despite being in office for only a month, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has received considerable support from his citizens. While 29 percent disapproved of his leadership, a substantial number of South Koreans support his governance style, as indicated in the survey.
This is not the first occasion PM Modi has topped this global chart. Since September 2021, he has consistently led the Morning Consult rankings, with approval ratings typically ranging between 70 percent and 76 percent, consistently outperforming other democratic leaders.
Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone in India's political history on Friday, becoming the second-longest-serving PM of India (4,078 days) in consecutive terms, surpassing the record of former PM Indira Gandhi (4,077 days).
At 74, PM Narendra Modi first took oath as Prime Minister on May 26, 2014, and has served for a total of 11 years and 60 days in office to date.
