Quetta, Feb 16 (NationPress) A Baloch student has reportedly been killed extrajudicially by Pakistani forces in Balochistan, according to a prominent human rights organization that made the announcement on Monday.

This incident adds to a disturbing trend of targeted killings and enforced disappearances that have been escalating throughout the province.

Expressing their outrage over the death of Junaid Ahmed, a 22-year-old, the Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement disclosed that his body was discovered on the Eastern Bypass in Quetta this past Sunday, following his abduction on January 23 from the Children’s Hospital by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

The organization reported that Ahmed's body was found with his hands and feet bound, displaying multiple bullet wounds, which raises serious concerns regarding a possible custodial killing post his forced disappearance.

On the same day, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) highlighted the unlawful deaths of three Baloch students throughout the province.

As per the BYC, the disfigured body of Jangiyan Baloch was abandoned in the Shapatan area of Panjgur district on Sunday, after he had been missing for nearly nine months due to actions taken by the Pakistani Frontier Corps (FC).

“This heartbreaking situation underscores a deeply troubling pattern in Balochistan, where families continue to face enforced disappearances, unlawful killings, and the discovery of bodies. Reports suggest that over 10 similar incidents have transpired in the region just within the last week,” stated the BYC.

“The victim’s family sought legal avenues, approaching the courts and relevant state authorities in hopes of recovering their loved one safely. Instead, they were met with his body, which reportedly showed signs of violence. Such events raise significant human rights issues and necessitate immediate attention,” it emphasized.

In another incident, a 17-year-old student named Muhnas Baloch was allegedly killed by Pakistani forces in the Tump region of Balochistan on February 14. Local sources indicated that Muhnas was shot dead by a Pakistan-backed death squad in what residents label a “targeted killing.”

On the same day, the tortured and bullet-riddled body of Nawab Abdullah was discovered in the Washbodh region of Panjgur district. Nawab had been taken from his home on May 29, 2025, in front of his mother and sisters, after being beaten and dragged away by armed personnel.

“This is not an isolated case. It highlights the ongoing daily atrocities in Balochistan, where Baloch youth and even children are forcibly taken from their families, subjected to severe torture in unknown detention facilities allegedly operated by state agencies, and later found dead, their bodies riddled with bullets and discarded in remote locations,” the BYC reported.
