Kolkata, April 13 (NationPress) Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee announced on Monday that he aims to reinstate the voting rights of individuals whose names were expunged from the state's voter list following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
Addressing an election rally in Karimpur, located in Nadia district, Banerjee assured that those affected would have their voting rights reinstated within a month of the new government taking office after the Assembly elections.
During the rally, Banerjee emphasized, "Individuals have seen their names removed from the voter list post-SIR, despite having valid documentation and a strong desire to vote. I urge you to cast your votes directly for Mamata Banerjee, who will lead the government formed on May 4. Gyanesh Kumar will fade away, and within a month, Mamata Banerjee's administration will restore the voting rights. This is our commitment," he stated.
