As summer intensifies, Rajasthan is experiencing a notable spike in heat. The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur has forecasted that clear skies and extreme heat will continue across the state for the next 4-5 days. The highest temperature recorded this season occurred on Monday.
Barmer has been significantly affected by the soaring temperatures, marking the peak of the current summer season. Previously, in March, Barmer saw a high of 40.8 degrees Celsius. However, a slight shift in weather patterns was observed late in the evening across the Bikaner division after a day of extreme heat, with areas such as Bikaner, Churu, and Hanumangarh experiencing light cloud cover and dusty winds.
Chittorgarh also faced its hottest day of the season on Monday, reaching 40 degrees, surpassing temperatures recorded in Jodhpur, Phalodi, Bikaner, and Churu.
Other significant cities, including Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur, reported elevated daytime temperatures due to the relentless heat since morning.
Radheshyam Sharma, the Director of the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, indicated that clear weather is expected to persist for the next 4-5 days. He noted that heat intensity could further increase, especially in parts of western Rajasthan.
In eastern Rajasthan, which includes the Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Udaipur divisions, temperatures are predicted to rise by an additional 2-3 degrees.
Jaipur itself recorded a maximum of 37 degrees with a minimum of 23 degrees. Mount Abu, Rajasthan's only hill station, had a temperature of 29.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 17.4 degrees.
On Monday, all districts in Rajasthan noted maximum temperatures below 40 degrees, with the exceptions of Barmer and Chhittorgarh. Additionally, several districts recorded minimum temperatures below 20 degrees, experiencing moderate nighttime weather. Sri Ganganagar was the coolest area in western Rajasthan, with a minimum temperature of 20.2 degrees.
