Bengaluru, March 7 (NationPress) — The Karnataka Lokayukta Police executed search operations on Saturday as part of an investigation into a case concerning disproportionate assets linked to a Range Forest Officer employed with the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA). These searches reportedly uncovered assets totaling Rs 3.19 crore.
An official statement revealed that the operations were initiated based on a complaint lodged at the Lokayukta Police Station, Bengaluru City-1, against the identified government official, Dalesh A.L.
Multiple locations, including residences, offices, and properties of relatives associated with the accused officer, were simultaneously raided.
During the investigations, authorities allegedly discovered both movable and immovable assets that were disproportionate to the officer's recognized income sources.
The findings included immovable properties valued at approximately Rs 2.70 crore and movable assets assessed at Rs 48.85 lakh.
Among the immovable properties listed were three plots of land, two houses, a commercial building, and around 17.20 acres of agricultural land.
Movable assets comprised Rs 1.35 lakh in cash and gold items worth around Rs 13 lakh.
Authorities confirmed that further inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
In a separate incident, a woman official from the Hubballi–Dharwad Municipal Corporation was apprehended by Lokayukta police on Saturday while allegedly accepting a bribe for processing a license for a roti shop.
The accused, identified as Heena Kausar, works at the corporation's Zone-1 office. She was caught in the act by Lokayukta officials while receiving the bribe.
As per reports, Maleppa Talwar had applied for a license to establish a roti shop and it is alleged that Kausar demanded Rs 4,500 to expedite the license application.
Sources indicated that she had previously received Rs 1,000 as an advance from the complainant.
On March 7, while allegedly accepting the remaining Rs 3,500 from Maleppa Talwar, Lokayukta officials executed a trap operation and caught her red-handed with the cash.
This operation was conducted under the oversight of Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Siddalingappa.
Officials mentioned that the accused has been taken into custody and appropriate legal actions have been initiated.
