Kolkata, Jan 20 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal revealed the names of its new panel chiefs on Tuesday, featuring two sitting Lok Sabha members. Samik Bhattacharya, the party's state president and Rajya Sabha member, announced the appointments. Saumitra Khan, the BJP's two-time Lok Sabha MP from Bishunupur, will now lead the party's Yuva Morcha (youth wing) in the state.

Furthermore, Jyotirmay Singh Mahato, another two-time Lok Sabha member from Purulia, has been appointed as the head of the Scheduled Caste (SC) Morcha. The actress-turned-politician Locket Chatterjee, who previously served as the Lok Sabha member from Hooghly, will oversee the Mahila Morcha (Women’s Wing) in West Bengal.

This announcement finalizes the long process of reshuffling the party's leadership and its mass organizations in the state. Last year, Samik Bhattacharya was elected as the new state president, succeeding Sukanta Majumdar, the Union Minister of State for Education.

Earlier this month, the BJP also introduced a new 35-member state committee for West Bengal, which includes 12 vice-presidents, five general secretaries, 12 secretaries, one treasurer, two joint treasurers, one office secretary, and one joint office secretary.
