Bengaluru, Nov 4 (NationPress) - On Tuesday, Bengaluru Police apprehended an employee from a private firm for allegedly sexually harassing a television actress known for her roles in various Kannada and Telugu serials.
The suspect was named as Naveen K. Mon, a delivery manager at Templeton and Partner Company located in Whitefield, Bengaluru.
This incident was reported under the jurisdiction of the Annapoorneshwari Nagar Police Station.
Following a complaint from the 41-year-old actress, authorities filed an FIR in accordance with pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act.
The actress, who lives with her husband, mother, and daughter in their residence in Annapoorneshwari Nagar, has a notable career in Kannada and Telugu serials.
According to the police report, the actress received a friend request from the accused on Facebook, which she chose not to accept.
Upset by her rejection, the accused began bombarding her with inappropriate messages daily via Messenger, as stated by the police.
In her complaint, the actress mentioned that she cautioned him against sending further messages. Despite her warnings, he persisted and she subsequently blocked his account.
“The accused then resorted to creating multiple accounts to send vulgar messages and explicit videos. Despite her continual warnings, he remained relentless in his harassment,” the police remarked.
On November 1, after receiving yet another explicit message, the actress invited him to meet at a restaurant in the Nagarbhavi area. Upon meeting, she reiterated her warning against further harassment. However, the accused disregarded her plea and continued.
Following these events, the actress sought police intervention and filed a formal complaint. Taking swift action, the police arrested the accused, and further investigations are ongoing.
