The incident resulted in injuries to several individuals, with one BFC supporter suffering an eye injury that required medical attention. Additionally, other fans, including club owner Parth Jindal, experienced burns and bruises.
"Bengaluru Football Club has officially lodged a complaint with the AIFF and FSDL following the incident where a firecracker was thrown into the away section during the Indian Super League 2024-25 final against Mohun Bagan Super Giant at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday," stated the club.
"The club is collaborating with the Federation and the League to ensure that this event is managed properly and establishes a benchmark for fan safety regulations in stadiums.
"Such actions jeopardize lives and contradict the essence of our beloved sport. Stadiums must always remain a safe haven. These actions have no place in football or anywhere else," it continued.
