Bengaluru, Jan 21 (NationPress) - Invaluables Bengaluru has unveiled ‘Recycle Resolutions’, a culturally inspired campaign that features engaging musical reels by the renowned comedian-creator Shraddha Jain, better known as Aiyyo Shraddha, alongside musician Vasu Dixit. This initiative aims to motivate residents to adopt straightforward waste management practices that enhance recyclability and honor the dignity of the city's waste pickers.

These short-form digital reels utilize rap and music to convey straightforward, relatable messages about responsible waste handling.

According to Invaluables Bengaluru, the reels have garnered increasing organic engagement on social media, thanks to their straightforwardness and cultural resonance.

Through their individual musical reels, Jain and Dixit emphasize how these simple actions directly impact the safety, efficiency, and dignity of informal waste pickers, also known as Invaluable Recyclers.

The campaign builds upon previous initiatives from Invaluables, which have shown measurable success. For instance, ‘Wash the Dabba’ achieved a 60% adoption rate among its audience, ‘Got Old Clothes?’ successfully collected 1.8 tonnes of garments across 16 Dry Waste Collection Centres in one month, and ‘Mark It Red’ led to 41% of respondents safely wrapping and marking sanitary and hazardous waste.

Vasu Dixit, a steadfast supporter of #Invaluables, remarked, “True transformation doesn’t require grand gestures; it resides in the small, everyday actions. By managing our waste responsibly, we make the work of our waste pickers safer and more dignified. ‘Recycle Resolutions’ serves as a reminder that these simple habits work, and that is reason enough to maintain them.”

Aiyyo Shraddha, who has been part of the campaign since 2021, added, “Most resolutions fade by February, but these? They’re uncomplicated. Wash your dabba, send old clothes to dry waste centers, and help ensure safer, more dignified work for waste pickers. ‘Recycle Resolutions’ stands as a commitment to our environmental guardians. We must truly uphold these promises!”

During the launch, Soma Katiyar, Executive Creative Director, India, BBC Media Action, stated, “The New Year inspires us to ‘recycle’ these actions as resolutions, ensuring they don’t dissipate into mere campaign noise but become ingrained in our daily habits. Our creative insight was clear: individuals don’t require new habits; they simply need familiar ones amplified at the right cultural moment. Genuine behavior change occurs through simple, dignifying routines that quietly enhance the safety of our Invaluable Recyclers.”

Highlighting the broader impact, Varinder Kaur Gambhir, Country Director, India, BBC Media Action, stated, “Invaluables has always focused on helping citizens recognize the individuals behind our waste management system and act with consideration. This final phase consolidates all we’ve learned so far, supported by evidence and impact, and encourages the people of Bengaluru to embrace these behaviors as a collective responsibility towards our waste pickers.”

Invaluables is an initiative by BBC Media Action under Saamuhika Shakti, a collaborative effort involving 12 partners aimed at enabling waste pickers to lead secure and dignified lives with greater agency. The campaign is being promoted across digital platforms as well as outdoor media throughout Bengaluru, including specific bus shelters and Namma Metro.
