Davos, January 20 (NationPress) Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw remarked on Tuesday that the global industry increasingly recognizes Bharat as a trustworthy and strategic supply-chain partner, propelled by the nation's swift advancement in establishing a comprehensive semiconductor and artificial intelligence ecosystem.
While addressing the World Economic Forum, Vaishnaw highlighted that Bharat is diligently constructing a complete semiconductor ecosystem that encompasses every essential segment of the value chain, such as chip design, fabrication, packaging, materials, specialty gases, and cutting-edge equipment.
He emphasized that this cohesive approach is enabling India to lessen its dependency on imports while fostering new avenues for international collaboration.
Vaishnaw stated, "The global industry sees Bharat as an increasingly reliable supply-chain partner."
He elaborated that Bharat is indeed establishing a full semiconductor ecosystem, which includes design, fabrication, packaging, materials, gases, and equipment.
Vaishnaw observed that international firms are now considering Bharat as a progressively dependable ally in global supply chains, particularly as nations seek to diversify manufacturing hubs and mitigate risks associated with over-reliance on a handful of regions.
Stressing the growing trust of global tech leaders in India, the minister mentioned that Google is amplifying its commitment to Bharat’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.
This commitment encompasses plans for a $15 billion AI data center in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, along with deeper collaborations with Indian startups in advanced technology and innovation.
He noted that such investments are indicative of India’s increasing significance in future technologies like semiconductors, AI, and digital infrastructure.
According to Vaishnaw, the government's emphasis on policy consistency, skilled workforce, and substantial domestic demand is laying a robust foundation for sustained growth in the high-tech manufacturing domain.
The minister concluded that Bharat is evolving from being merely a technology market to becoming a global hub for innovation, production, and reliable supply chains.
"Google is enhancing its commitment to India’s AI ecosystem, including a $15B AI data center in Vizag and collaborations with Indian startups," the Union Minister stated.
