Madhya Pradesh Minister Takes Strong Stance Against Land Encroachment in Bhopal
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, March 7 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh's Cooperation Minister Vishvas Sarang expressed his disappointment on Saturday regarding the rampant illegal encroachments on government property within his Narela Assembly constituency in Bhopal. He has instructed the district administration to take decisive actions against the encroachers.
The minister has also mandated the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Revenue Department, and local law enforcement to ensure that essential services such as drinking water and electricity are not supplied to regions where these illegal encroachments exist.
During a recent inspection of residential areas, including Shahenshah Garden and Ashoka Garden, Sarang, a BJP MLA, assessed the current state of government land in these neighborhoods.
While inspecting, he called upon Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sumit Pandey to explain how unauthorized constructions had been erected on government land without the necessary permissions.
Moreover, he directed the ADM to issue a notice to Tehsildar (revenue officer) Karuna Dandotiya, demanding an explanation regarding the encroachments.
This surprise inspection followed numerous complaints from local residents about illegal land occupations.
Sarang instructed local officials to pinpoint illegal structures on government land and to take immediate action for their demolition.
He further emphasized that no civic body services, including water and electricity, should be extended to any illegal settlements within the city.
The minister also called for a thorough investigation and strict measures against madrasas, factories, and meat shops reportedly operating unlawfully on government land.
“Anyone found violating regulations and occupying government land must be removed without delay, and the land should be cleared of all encroachments,” Sarang stated. He added, “If any illegal connections for electricity and water have already been established, they must be revoked immediately. An investigation should be launched to verify the legitimacy of these connections, and those responsible for encroaching on government land must face consequences,” he declared.
