He emphasized the need for district administrations to stay alert and take decisive action against any occurrences of hoarding or black marketing of LPG.
During this meeting, it was revealed that a total of 3,029 LPG cylinders have been confiscated across Madhya Pradesh thus far. Additionally, 2,759 raids have been executed, resulting in 11 FIRs lodged against those involved in black market activities.
Chief Secretary Jain instructed District Collectors to rigorously implement the Essential Commodities Act, levy significant fines on offenders, and suspend the licenses of any agencies engaging in malpractice.

The Chief Secretary expressed relief that the long lines at petrol stations and gas agencies have entirely vanished, and that panic purchasing has ceased.
He mandated that the availability of petroleum products be monitored on a daily basis at both state and district levels.

On March 27, 2026, the Indian Government allocated an extra 20 percent commercial LPG specifically for industries, including steel, automotive, textiles, dyes, chemicals, and plastics. These additional supplies are being appropriately distributed.
Chief Secretary Jain urged officials to increase domestic PNG connections in districts where pipeline infrastructure exists.
He requested that District Collectors ensure adequate manpower support for agencies and promote the advantages of piped natural gas to maximize household coverage within the next three months.
He also directed the immediate restoration of disconnected domestic connections and expedited issuance of No Objection Certificates and other clearances to agencies within 24 hours.
Camps should be organized in residential areas to facilitate new connections.
The meeting also evaluated the progress of granting ‘Deemed CGD Approval’ within 24 working hours for the installation of gas pipelines and the establishment of two petrol stations in each district.
The Central government is currently assessing the allocation of additional kerosene.
Chief Secretary Jain highlighted the importance of promoting alternative energy sources through extensive awareness campaigns.
He urged all district administrations to respond swiftly to any reports of hoarding or black market activities and to ensure a steady supply of petroleum products for the populace.
