Is the Safety of Hindus in Bangladesh Under Threat?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Jan 12 (NationPress) Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi voiced significant alarm regarding the violence directed at minority groups, especially Hindus and their temples in Bangladesh.
He pointed out that the Hindu community and their sacred sites have been subject to persistent assaults and criticized the Opposition parties in India for their silence on this critical matter.
Saraogi contended that whenever minorities face issues in other regions, Opposition leaders are quick to protest, yet there remains a stark absence of response to what he describes as atrocities against Hindus.
“Such selective silence is disheartening,” he remarked.
He urged the Bangladeshi government to guarantee full protection for the Hindu populace and their places of worship.
Saraogi emphasized that there is a limit to tolerance, stating that the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to the safety and dignity of Hindus.
Regarding Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s development initiatives, he noted that the Chief Minister is closely observing Bihar’s advancements.
He highlighted that numerous new programs introduced during this tour have gained Cabinet approval, totaling over Rs 50,000 crore.
“The Chief Minister is touring various districts to assess developmental projects, and implementation of these initiatives is already underway at an accelerated pace,” he added.
In other news, Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh sharply criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government for the purported assault on Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, asserting that the state is experiencing a direct clash between democracy and what he alleges is a government with a terrorist mindset.
Speaking to the media in Begusarai, Giriraj Singh claimed that the Mamata Banerjee administration is sustained by oppressive forces, terrorists, and Bangladeshi infiltrators.
He declared that the BJP aims to restore democracy in West Bengal and will focus on identifying and removing illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators.
“A government cannot function based on thuggery and violence. Bengal is a vital part of India, and those engaging in politics with the backing of Bangladeshi infiltrators will face appropriate consequences,” the Union Minister stated.
