What Did Bihar Minister Find in Tej Pratap's Vacated Bungalow?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Jan 31 (NationPress) Following the departure of Tej Pratap Yadav, the former National President of Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), from the official government bungalow located at 26 M Stand Road, the newly appointed minister conducted an inspection of the premises on Saturday and raised serious questions regarding its state.
Bihar's new minister Lakhendra Paswan, who has been assigned this residence, expressed his concerns stating that the bungalow is devoid of essential amenities and is unsuitable for living.
“The government should not allocate decrepit buildings to its ministers, yet the condition of the residence provided to me is severely lacking. The roof is damaged, there are no light bulbs, and all the fans and air conditioning units have been removed,” Paswan remarked.
He further claimed that chairs, electrical fittings, and other fundamental necessities are absent, and there are even broken gate latches.
“You will find nothing inside this residence. Everything has been stripped away,” asserted the minister.
The Building Construction Department of the Bihar government has finalized the allocation of official residences for all ministers.
In this process, the bungalow at 26 M Stand Road, previously occupied by Tej Pratap Yadav, was vacated and reassigned to Lakhendra Paswan.
Paswan highlighted that according to government regulations, every MLA and minister is entitled to a livable official residence equipped with basic facilities.
“I have notified the officials of the Building Construction Department about the current situation and showcased the condition of the bungalow in person. Living there in its present state is impossible,” he stated.
It has been confirmed post-inspection that Tej Pratap Yadav has vacated the government residence.
As per government sources, the condition of the bungalow will undergo formal assessment, and necessary repairs will be conducted to ensure that Lakhendra Paswan is provided with essential facilities before moving in.
