Did Tej Pratap Yadav Dismiss Accusations About His Government Bungalow?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, February 3 (NationPress) Tej Pratap Yadav, the head of Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), has vehemently denied the accusations made by Bihar minister Lakhendra Paswan concerning the absence of amenities in the government bungalow located at 26 M, Strand Road, Patna, labeling the assertions as utterly unfounded.
Tej Pratap firmly asserted that the air conditioners, fans, bulbs, and other facilities used during his residency were financed through his personal resources, thereby negating any allegations of misappropriating government property.
“Such trivial actions are beneath us. When I was assigned the bungalow as an MLA, it was completely empty. I provided everything at my own cost,” he remarked.
In a pointed criticism of Lakhendra Paswan, Tej Pratap suggested that the minister's intellect has faltered and accused him of fabricating allegations solely for media publicity.
“He has only just assumed his ministerial role and believes he has discovered paradise. He ought to exercise caution and refrain from abusing his authority,” Yadav added sarcastically, “We even extended an invitation for Dahi Chura, yet he did not attend—perhaps he is too occupied, like PM Narendra Modi.”
Tej Pratap further asserted that the bungalow was in a state of disrepair when he took residence.
“The house was in terrible condition. I transformed it into a haven using my own funds. It’s an old British-era structure, and even the roof was leaking,” he noted.
Challenging the allegations, he questioned why the Building Construction Department or the junior engineer (JE) never issued a notice if government property had indeed been removed.
“If so much material was indeed misappropriated, why was no notice issued? All the items belonged to me,” he emphasized.
He further accused the minister of neglecting pressing issues plaguing Bihar.
“Crime has escalated to alarming levels. Consider the recent incident involving NEET students. Instead of seeking justice, the minister is fixated on missing bulbs and fans. This is all for TRP,” Tej Pratap stated, also suggesting that Paswan lacks a substantial following and is unnecessarily stirring controversy.
On the topic of Pakistan's reported withdrawal from playing India in the T20 World Cup, Tej Pratap remarked that Pakistan fears India.
“Not only Pakistan, but numerous countries today are wary of India. Pakistan realized it would face defeat, hence its withdrawal,” he claimed.
Regarding the Union Budget 2026, Tej Pratap noted that while the central government likely prepared it with care, any deficiencies should be addressed.
On the NEET aspirant's death case, he commented that a CBI investigation should have been initiated much earlier.
“The delay raises doubts, but now the investigation will reveal the truth,” he concluded.
